According to the standard requirements and in combination with the suitable environment for portable Doppler ultrasonic flowmeters, the technicians of the branch focused on studying the application of artificial wading in natural river flow measurement. The research adopted a comparative measurement method with the manual wading flowmeter method to observe the relative error or random uncertainty of the flow measured by the portable Doppler ultrasonic flowmeter method in various clear water bodies and complex riverbeds in natural rivers. Through over 30 comparative tests and analyses on 5 sections of 4 rivers, it is indicated that the SCJ-BX01 portable Doppler ultrasonic flowmeter from Wuhan Shuicejia has met the requirements of the ultrasonic flowmeter testing specifications in terms of error.
